Ways to Reconcile from the book “52 Ways to Reconcile, How to Walk with Indigenous Peoples” by David A. Robertson

Show Compassion

about the “Sixties Scoop”

The “Sixties Scoop” refers to the large-scale removal or “scooping” of Indigenous children from their homes, communities and families of birth through the 1960s, and their subsequent adoption into predominantly non-Indigenous, middle-class families across the United States and Canada.

Remember that every act of forgiveness brings us closer to love and compassion for all.

Remember the past. Remember that we can choose compassion.

Don’t let history be erased. Instead learn about it.

This remembrance is repeated here because last time there was an incorrect link. The link is corrected below.

“To better understand the system and its impacts on indigenous children, women, parents, families, and communities, take some time to research the system at large….. to develop an articulate and broad understanding.” (pg 61)

Remember we host Multicultural Potlucks every third Sunday….

Multicultural Potlucks are held monthly on the farm. Join us on the third Sunday at 1pm. These connect us to our family roots & cultural heritages from around the world. Gather in celebration at our Multicultural Potlucks, where every meal is a testament to the rich tapestry of cultural diversity that defines our community. These potlucks are more than just food events—they're dynamic spaces for cultural exchanges, where you can share stories, food, comradrie.

Permaculture Community is growing….

Permaculture was on the radio yesterday, April 6 on KCBX.

Teresa Tree was interviewed by Fr. Ian Delinger
Fr. Ian Delinger has a show called “Playing with Food” on KCBX. He came out to Our Global Family Farm a few months ago to take a look at what we have created.
Our Global Family Farm is a permaculture demonstration farm in a corner of SLO City Farm in San Luis Obispo, which is a “whole systems thinking” approach to horticulture and living. We are creating an ecosystem.
