We celebrate cultures, we build relationships with the land, we share our land acknowledgement, we gather with others, and we gather herbs while being grateful for all that plants give us.

Our Land Acknowledgement
Building Relationships with Native People

Native Plant Workshop held with Rosemary & Gloria last year at Perfumo Creek at City Farm SLO where a creek restoration project has revitalized the ecosystem and created a nature experience for all.
Land Acknowledgements are a step towards building and restoring relationships with Native Peoples here in SLO County.
We acknowledge that there are many tribes, including Chumash, Salinan, and Esselen.
“We ask you to join us in acknowledging the many Chumash Tribes, Salinan Tribe, and the Esselen Tribe, their Elders, their Tribes and relatives, as well as their future generations, as the First Nations that tended to this land.
We come together today to acknowledge, stand up for, and help give voice to, the unceded lands and waters of the Chumash people.
Let us all to reflect that these lands and the peoples of these lands that we live and work on are First Peoples’ territories that have been taken away and that their cultural ways have been excluded and erased. The damage that has been done and continues to be done by not sharing the true history and legacy in this place and others, and by the exploitation of the Natural Cultural Resources of these areas, can never be erased.
Let us work together to prevent further damage to these lands and waters by supporting traditional stewardship practices on these lands and waters. ”

Upcoming Permaculture Workshop Series
Back to the Basics with Permaculture
Check out this series of workshops on creating a regenerative system that we want to create for our collective futures! These workshops will be held at the community space known as Osos Garden Cafe. (previously called Celia’s Garden Cafe located in Los Osos)
The workshops will introduce permaculture concepts about food, water, shelter, and energy ….. all basic to our survival…..but re-envisioned with a regenerative systems approach to respecting our natural resources while providing for our ecosystem, economy and equity.
The dates align with the two equinoxes (March 21st and September 19th) and the two solstices (June 20th and December 19th)
Workshops are 2pm to 4pm and are $10/person. Then at 4pm - 9pm stick around for Food, Music and Art celebrations at Osos Garden Cafe!
Get involved
We farm together every Sunday!
Want to volunteer, co-organize or simply hang out at Our Global Family Farm? We've dedicated a 1/4 acre piece of public farmland to education about how to grow food in an ecological way. We hope you’ll help us continue this work by volunteering on every Sunday 9am to 1pm. Rediscover the joy of nature and community with our Sunday Fundays on the Farm.
That’s it for this week.
Keep showing up, keep cheering each other on — and as always remember that We Are All Part of One Global Family!
